More Carousel

Here is another sample.  This one uses the Petals Brass template to paper pierce all around the outside and then I used the template to mark the holes for the punch in each scallop.  I used the chocolate twill ribbon again with a slide.  This slide is colored with a mixture of groovy guava and crystal effects.  Cool, huh!

If you are not mailing your card, tuck in the envelope flap and decorate the outside.  I used Afternoon Tea DSP and popped-up the butterfly.  Wrap some guava double-stitched ribbon around it and you are done.  I love groovy guava.

Carousel notes

One of my new favorite items in the Spring Mini are the carousel notes.  When I first saw them, I did not quite know what to do with them.  I looked around at other samples and over the next few days I will share with you some of the great ways to decorate them.  These notes will be a class this month.  Watch for the date and projects.

This one uses the Afternoon Tea DSP, choc chip twill ribbon and slide from the Styled Silver Hardware.  I colored on the back of the stamp with my markers and then cut out the image.  The flower on the envelope is stamped in white craft.  Don't you love the colors.

Bloomin 3x3

Here is the make-n-take at the last workshop.  I wanted everyone to get their hands on a heat gun and to do some watercoloring.  I saw this cute idea on one of the blogs I frequent and thought it would be perfect to showcase this set.  The envelope is one of the minis in the catty with the flap tucked in.  Wrap the envy with some ribbon and cover with DSP and stamp if desired.  A 3x3 card fits nicely in this envy and makes a quick and cute card.

Bloomin' Beautiful

That is the perfect name for this stamp set.  In this sample, I used the Wild Wasabi textured stock from the special and trimmed it down a bit.  Add stripes from Afternoon Tea DSP, 3/4 inch circles for scallops, and the chocolate twill ribbon.  That gorgeous pot of flowers is layered on Shimmer White and Choc Chip.  For the flowers, I embossed them with black EP and then watercolored them with my markers and my aquapainter, and then cut out the image.  I popped it up on the front with dimensions.  What you can not see very well is that I stamped the flowers again and colored using the same technique as the first time.  I cut out a few of the blooms and added them on top of the bouquet with dimensionals to add even more height.  IRL, this is a really nice card.

I demo'ed this card in a workshop on Sunday and everyone liked it. Tommorrow, I will show you what we did as the Make-n-Take.

Flap Card

Tart & Tangy is one of my favorite stamp sets and I have been wanting to try the 'flap' cards that have been displayed on SCS lately...so here is what I came up with. 

I have never been a huge fan of Real Red but it works really well with the Summer Picnic paper and the strawberry.  Under the berry is a velcro closure.  This design makes a cute gift card holder or a nice thank you.  I like just about anything with this red striped ribbon ;)

I am finalizing a Tart & Tangy class and this design is sure to be in there.

More simple

Don't you just love the Summer Picnic DSP !  These cards are simple enough for 8 year olds to stamp and they are perfect as a teacher thank you.  I love how the 'One of a Kind' saying fits so well with this design.

Simple Cards

I just did a class for some cute little girls.  They are FIRST and SECOND graders and some have stamped with me before.  It is amazing how well they do and how excited they are over this craft.

This little card uses a wheel and coordinating stamp set to create an easy but really cute card.  What is special about this set is that the stamps match the wheel and you 2-step stamp the rolled images.  I love this set, it is so simple and cute...Bud Basics and the Basics Outline wheel.

This card was inspired from an adorable tag sent to me from my friend Stasia.  I loved her color scheme so I CASED it!

I'm Back!

Thank you computer gods...we have been able to save the patient and all viruses are gone!  AND, my digital photos were recovered.  Can you see me, I am doing the happy dance.

Here are some photos from my downline meeting a week ago.  We never seem to have enough time and we planned for three hours...it went four!  We love to stamp so let me show you some other cute projects.

A couple of my girls demo'd a new technique or 3-d item.  Lorraine showed us how to make this adorable basket.  It uses Tart & Tangy and the Summer Picnic DSP.  Isn't it fabulous!

May showed us how to do the Dahlia fold...I need to practice this technique.

You can fold just portions of the flower and get a really cute look, also.

Ok, here we are...Lisa, Jen, Dolly, Lorraine, me and May.  Lynn and Pat (second level) is missing.

Bad news, good news

The bad news is that my home PC with all my digital photos and camera software has been infected with a BAD virus.   It is being delivered to the doc today and I hope to get it back in 5 days or so.  This means that I can not post any pictures of stuff I am stamping OR complete my April newsletter.  I am so bummed!

However, if there is good news it is that the March newsletter contains all of the SU specials that are available right now and I will get out some class information in a separate email shortly.  So hang on and we will not be out of contact for long...and I will make it up to you!

You can bet I am STAMPING and I will be bombarding you with past projects as soon as the patient comes home :)
