Ok, this has got to be my new favorite technique. It is easy, there are several ways to do it, each way has a different result AND no two projects turn out the same. Guess what it is? Watercoloring! In the last rec class, we worked on our Monet skills by applying the watercolor wonder crayons directly to the back of our solid rubber stamp, covered all the area with one or more colors and then just lightly misted it with water. After applying the stamp to paper, you get a really cool "Monet" looking piece of artwork. Another way to watercolor is with the fabulous Aquapainter. What a cool tool. This is a paintbrush with a barrel of water attached so you do not need to have a cup on your table to knock over. Can you tell I have done that before! Just squeeze your closed classic ink pad together (upside down) to gather a pool of ink on the inside lid and viola - instant color palette. This technique works really well with a line-art image. Add a little ink from lid on your brush tip and spread with water, making some areas darker than others, leaving some space uncolored...and you have a really nice watercolor effect. The last project we did was more playful. We stamped a cup design made with punches and stuffed it with some Hot Chocolate to warm you up on a cold winter day. A lot of detail to this project but very cute. I would so wear this sweater. Add some bling on the sweater and mittens and call it a day...
