Simple is good

Sometimes you just need a simple card.  This one uses Thoughts & Prayers also.  Marker the back of the stamp to color the leaves, stem and flowers.  Add the trio-flower punch for some pizzaz.

Old Olive, Regal Rose and Rich Razzleberry...great combo here.

 

Look Ma, no layers

I wanted to see if I could create a simple card without any layers and still have it look nice. 

This one uses Thoughts & Prayers (p. 52) which has two great images and a number of sentiments.  I markered the tree and added the trio-flower punch for some dimension.  The ribbon is from SAB last year.

Simple. Quick. I like it!

Dormant Stamp Sets Discontinued

Butterflys

Last of the SAS cards.  Here we used the Flight of the Butterfly set, the butterfly punch and layered vellum on top.  The colors and DSP is from Thoroughly Modern.

 
 

More SAS cards

Here are a few more of the cards we did at my last Stamp-a-Stack and pictures of some of the gals stamping.  A special thanks goes out to the hostess for have a beautiful home and wonderful friends.

The Manhattan Flower is one of my favorite embossing folders.  This card uses vellum and then we cut out the top of the rose before mounting on the card. 

Another simple card uses the ornament die from the Magnetic Movers & Shapers Holiday Windows in the mini.  The ornament punch coordinates with this die.  It punches out the ornament just a little smaller so it fits perfectly together.  Here I used the Holiday Lounge DSP with Kraft and Taken with Teal cardstock.  Love the little ribbon at the top. 

Here is a close up of the card closed.  I love how it fits together.

We also made it in Ruby Red.

Reindeer

During a recent stamp-a-stack, one of the cards was a cute punch reindeer.  I found it on the web and CASED it.  I used oval, circle and square punches.  The antlers are made with the center of the Tulipe die.  Just another reason to buy ALL the dies.

I love taking photos of happy stampers.  Aren't they adorable :)

At this party, there was even a STAMPER dog.

 

Happy Thanksgiving

Turkey is almost ready and all the fixin's are done.  Off to a big feast and then to see New Moon ;)   I wish everyone a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving.  Here is the card I sent out this year.

 

The sun is shining in the Northeast and it is warm too.  Perfect day for a parade!  This little card was made with the Gift of the Earth set in the Holiday mini.  Love the colors of the Autumn Meadows DSP.

Also made this little goodie box with the Box #2 die and the Big Shot.  The leaves from Autumn Splendor are stamped and cut out and the box is filled with candy.

Paper Pumpkins

This paper creation has been around awhile but I love making this every year.  We made this one at my recent downline meeting.  Just take a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock (here I used Pumpkin Pie) and cut into 11 one inch strips.  We wheeled Bella's Border over the strips in Pumpkin Pie also.  Stack together and punch a hole in each end with your Crop-a-dile. Put a brad in one end with a piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon through it and put the other end of the ribbon through the other hole...and gently pull.  This will create a horse-shoe look.  Depending on how tight you pull it determines the height of your pumpkin.  It can be tall or more flat, your choice.  Tight a knot in the end, and clip ribbon.  Now fan out your cardstock pieces to create the pumpkin.

You can add decoration to the top with leaves from your Big Shot and strips of curly cardstock.  The leaves were run through the crimper also.  These decorations make a great centerpiece for your Thanksgiving Table.  Make them in different sizes and create a grouping, or a little one for each table setting filled with a little bag of candy.

Gift card holders

I don't know about you, but I give gift cards A LOT as presents.  It is easy but most importantly, they don't have to be returned and the recipient can get what THEY want.

Here are two samples that we will be doing in my stamp-a-stack on Friday.

This one used the Tall Tails DSP and the Party Hearty birthday set.

The belly band slips off and the slot punch is used to create a place for the gift card to slide in.  Below is a holiday themed one using the Christmas Cocoa DSP.

  

These are easy to make and really come in handy.  Just start with cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11, and score at 2 1/4 from one end, and 4 1/4 from the other end.  Give them a try.
