Fall Leaves

Autumn Splendor is one of my favorite stamp sets in the mini.  I love the colors you can make the leaves to match this time of year. 

This cute sample dabbed on several colors and then cut out a leave to put on top for dimension.

Simple and clean.  Great guy card! 

 

Do the side-step

There are a bunch of these type of cards on the net recently.  This one was shared with me at a demo meeting.  Fast to make with the ornament punch.  Love the layout.

Prepare a regular 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.  With the 5 1/2 edge at the top of your cutter/scoring tool, measure to 3 1/2.  Cut from 1 inch to 6 3/8 inch.  Turn cardstock so 8 1/2 edge is at the top of your cutter now.  Score from the edge of the cardstock to the cut line at 1, 2, 3 1/8 and 6 3/8 inches.  Fold scored side.

Halloween fun

Here are my boys showing off their newly carved pumpkins.  They did go trick-or-treating (even though they are kinda old for that) but I figured you might as well enjoy it as long as you can. No pictures of their costumes, they were simple and fast.  I don't think you ever get too old to carve a pumpkin. 

My DH and I went to a neighborhood adult Halloween party and it was a blast.  The hostess does an amazing job decorating and hosting. Along with great food she had a wine tasting.  It is great living in my neighborhood!  Here are a few pictures.

 

Most of us dressed up.  There were Pirates, monsters, Kung Fu, 'Flo' from Progressive Insurance, hospital patients and staff and of course, a great witch.

Ornament block

Patterned Pines

This year, there are two new hostess sets in the Holiday mini.  The Level 1 is called Patterned Pines and has some great images of fancy patterned trees and a pretty snowflake.  I used this set with the Holiday Lounge DSP in the big catty.  The colors in the DSP are modern and not my normal pick.  I do like the Taken with Teal and Sahara Sand together.

I cut the trees out and the Whisper White cs is run through the Big Shot Large Dots Textured Plate and the Teal birdie is from the Merry Details Sizzlet in the mini.  I just can't resist all the Big Shot goodies.

 

More Halloween

Here are close-ups of my adult Halloween class.  We used the Twick or Tweet set, the Haunting Hill wheel and the great images from 'From the Crypt' in the big catty.  The Spook Treats rub-ons and Sweet Treats cups are really fun to play with.  

So have fun with your spooky stamps because it is less than one week til Halloween !

Halloween stamping with the girls

My kids Halloween class was last night and I wanted to share pictures of the class and these beautiful girls.  I had a ball, hoping they did too!  It is so much fun to watch them put their projects together.  I asked their moms if I could borrow them for a day of playing (stamping, shopping,etc) since I have three sons and really miss the girl time.  They loved the projects, especially the Build-a-Bear projects.

Here is what they created.  We used the Big Shot dies to help with the cutting, the Twick or Tweet stamp set and Little Boo from the Under $10 page in the back.   The Cast-a-Spell DSP determined the color schemes.

The projects they loved most were the ones using the Build-a-Bear dies.  We had to snip the Halloween bear's legs to fit the box which did not go over well :)

The witch was a hit and one of the gals thought she should be riding her broom.  Gee, wished I had thought of that!

3-D Swap

At Fall Fest, I participated in a 3-d swap and came up with this sunflower pot below.  It was inspired by something I saw online but I changed it up a bit.  The sunflower is made with the Sweet Centers stamp set in the mini and the Sweet Treat cups filled with sunflower seeds. 

I thought the bees from Just Buzzin' By were perfect for this theme.
